These terms are an agreement between you and Code Cabin, Inc. ("TrustedOrigin", "we", "us") governing your use of trustedorigin.org, the customer dashboard, the Trust Badge and the verification service. By creating an account or installing the badge you accept these terms.
TrustedOrigin runs automated and manual checks on domains you register (including malware scanning, SSL monitoring, phishing and spam reputation checks, email security checks and business verification) and provides a badge and verification panel that display the results to your visitors. The specific checks, their frequency and their depth may change over time as we improve the service.
You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure. You may only register domains that you own or are authorised to manage, and by registering a domain you authorise us to crawl and scan its publicly available pages and files.
You are responsible for disclosures your own website must make to its visitors, including referencing the badge cookies described in our cookie notice in your privacy policy where applicable. You can disable badge analytics for your domain at any time from the dashboard.
The service is billed as a monthly subscription per domain, processed by Stripe. Prices are shown at checkout and may change with notice; changes take effect at your next billing cycle.
You can cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. If something has gone wrong, contact [email protected] and we will consider refunds in good faith on a case by case basis.
While your subscription is active and your domain passes our checks, we grant you a licence to display the Trust Badge on that domain. The badge is served dynamically from our systems and remains our property.
We may withdraw the badge from a domain, with or without notice, if our checks detect a serious issue (such as malware or phishing), if the subscription lapses, if the verification was obtained with false information, or if the domain is used in a way that could mislead visitors or damage the integrity of the certification. The badge returns automatically when the issue is resolved, where applicable.
You may not attempt to manipulate check results, reverse engineer or copy the badge to display it without an active certification, use the service on unlawful websites, or interfere with the operation of our systems. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.
Our checks are performed with care, using reputable data sources, on a schedule. They are point in time assessments of publicly observable signals. A TrustedOrigin badge is strong evidence of good standing; it is not a guarantee that a website is free of all vulnerabilities, that it will never be compromised, or that every transaction with it will be satisfactory.
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of profits, revenue or data.
You may close your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend the service for breach of these terms, for non-payment, or if we discontinue the service, in which case we will give reasonable notice where practical. Sections 7, 8 and 10 survive termination.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on this page and, for significant changes, by email to account holders. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
